Nettie G's Challenge: JenLee's Sewing Heart

Greetings!

A new challenge begins over at NettieG's challenge blog and today Ms. G pays a special tribute to a very sweet, kind and talented individual...JenLee.  If you are a frequent visitor of CDAC you know who JenLee is.  If not, what are you waiting for?

Well, JenLee had stated she would love to see more sewing holiday items because she spent a good amount of time sewing and Ms. G granted her wish and even named it after her.  How cool and generous is that?  I am so proud and happy to present to you my creative interpretation of JenLee's Sewing Heart...

Isn't the image gorgeous!  Ms. G is so talented and JenLee is a lucky lady to have such a beautiful piece of work named after her.  Well if you participated in the other challenges, you should have recieved this cutie in your mailbox.  If not head over to the store and pick it up at the sale price and join us for this week's challenge.
Oh yes, congrats to Laura and JenLee for joining the Digital Gems design team!!  Look forward to working with you both. :-D

Also, this week over at CDAC they are having their monthly challenges and Ms. G's is hosting the sketch challenge.  You have another opportunity to snag a freebie and enter your creation to be randomly chosen for another freebie.  You don't want to miss out so get moving.

T.G.I.F.- ADFD New Release: Custom Photo Stamps

Greetings!

Thank God it is Friday!  This week seemed to buzz right by and I am not complaining!!  *giggl*  I am pooped and look forward to the weekend.  Today, I have something that is SUPA KEWL to share with you.  Yes, I know that those words are spelled wrong, but what I am about to show you warrants such madness! lol

Tammy over at A day for Daisies has released a "Custom Photo Stamp" service today.  This service will be offered (starting today) at ADFD and over at her etsy shop too. She'll be offering a promotion on them this week (Friday thru Friday).  If you buy a custom photo stamp design, you get a free 5$ coupon to use at the store!

Now you are probably saying, "Custom photo stamp...what's that?"  Well, it's amazing, awesome and sure to be a must-have for everyone.  It is actually a custom digi stamp of any photo you have.  Yes, you just send Tammy your photo...she works her magic (really uses her talent) and *poof* she sends you back this...(not the card...just the image) ;-)

The image that I used is called, "Charlotte."  This is not a picture that I submitted to Tammy, but this image was so adorable I just had to make a card using her.  I will show you next week how I colored my image that Tammy created for me.

Anyways, you do not want to miss out on this opportunity...pull out your favorite pic...head over to the store and put your request in.

Make sure you check out the awesome digis that the DTs have made too.  They are awesome!  What a talented group of ladies.

Now get to digging out your pictures...

Today I am sharing another one of those sassy ladies from Sassy Studios Designs new releases...a Victorian Beauty!  The Victorian era of the United Kingdom was the period of Queen Victoria's reign from June 1837 until her death on 22 January 1901.   The dresses the women would wear were long, full, layered creations.  Here's my creation...

This beauty  was so striking to me and my purple Copics took over and honest I blinked and she was colored.  *lol*  I love this image...I love all there images.  You should scoot over to Sassy Studios Designs and pick up a few of these.  You will not regret it!!

A Day for Daisies: Challenge #10 "Organic Soul" & New Release

Greetings!

I want to start this post out by first thanking all my followers and a special "MWAH" to those of you who recently started following me.  I do appreciate it.

Now to get down to business...

Today is T.G.I.F so that means a new release for "A Day for Daisies," and also it is time for a new challenge.  I know that we are always bombarded with challenges and only so much time to participate in all of them.  However, I am learning how to combine multiple challenges in order to get the most out of my creations.  You probably already do this, but thought it was worth mentioning. :-D  Okay, back to business (I'm so easily distracted now-a-days!)...

The challenge is called "Organic Soul," which sounds like the title of a really cool R & B song (or maybe the title of my next poem.) and runs from January 21st-February 3rd .  Well, your mission (if you choose to except it) is to create a card using something organic. Pressed leaves on trees, dried flowers in flowing hair, a sandy beach, or homemade paper, anything that inspires you! I am sure you will not find it hard to be inspired by the beautiful world around us!

I used new release images for both my cards today so here's the images for this week's new releases and my cards will follow.

Here's my interpretation of the challenge using "the mushroom child."  I used handmade paper that had dried pressed flowers inside it.  Coincendentially, after I put my card together, I discovered that the flower looked like a heart.  This inspired me to put the following sentiment inside the card "You make my heart flutter."  I love when things work out  this way.

The New Releases this week are just adorable aren't they?  I love fairies and butterflies so these were perfect.  Here's my card for the new release using "the flower child"

Okay, have you ever created a card...stepped back and said, "Wow"?  Be honest.  I mean if you don't pat yourself on the back no one will, right?  Well, I don't know what it is about this card, but I really love it.  I don't say that about all my creations, really very few.  However, this card I really loved the way it turned out.  What is even more surprising...I love it and it isn't even purple. LOL

Well, I have showed you my creations...now it's time to show me yours.  Head over to the store and snag these beauties (while you are there pick up a few more).  You will not be disappointed!  Tell 'em Candy sent you. :-D

Now get to creating...

Challenges:
Do you Stack Up? "Think Pink":  The second card is for this challenge. :-D

Nettie G's Digital Gems Progressive Challenge Part 2

Greetings!

I hope that you were able to participate in last week's challenge, because if not you missed out getting the beautiful Elizabeth in her petticoat as a freebie.  You will have to wait until February 1, 2011 to pick her up from the store!
This week's challenge continues our 1910 Fashion Show with model Elizabeth modestly wearing her petticoat.  Make a project using Elizabeth using her in her petticoat and post her to the blog by Sunday, January 23, 2011, 11:59 PM EST, and you will have a choice of Elizabeth in one of dresses.

Your model will be a beautiful vintage 1910 lady, as are her fashions. There will be three cards using the same model but with different clothes Items and three winners.  The first two division winners will choose one digi from NettieG's.   There will be two(2) winners in the Card 3 division - one(1) for Color and one(1) for Embellishments.  The embellishment winner will also receive a gift package from Pizzazz Aplenty, who is sponsoring our Blog Fashion Challenge, and the Color winner will also receive a 'gift package' of digital paper and designs from NettieG's Digital Gems.

Here is what I did with Elizabeth in her petticoat...

The first image is Elizabeth in her corset, the second is the beautiful petticoat image above,  and then you can dress her all up.  This image reminds me of my childhood and playing with my dolls.  I have truly enjoyed playing with her and you will too...just head over to the challenge blog and play along.

New Release-a day for daisies-Fairy Fashion

Greetings!

Wow...this has been a loooonngg week for me.  It was my first week back at work after being off for 3 weeks and it was difficult to retun.  However, I must work in order to enjoy my many hobbies, right?  Amyway, T.G.I.F means the beginning of the weekend and also the new release over at "a day for daisies."  This week Tammy has created the most adorable little outfits for all you fairy wonderful people out there.

Here are the selection of dresses to choose from along with a fairy cute little mushroom.

Told you they were too cute.  I started out with great plans to do great things with these fairy dresses, but then my mojo would get going so I decided on a card and a little gift box that I'll put a bracelt from Baubles by Bri.  Here's  what I came up with using the first two dresses of the fairy dress set. :-D

You can pick up these new releases (and many other images) here.  Also, the "Fresh coat of paint" challenge is still taking place and you can use any of ADFD images for it.  Tammy even gives you a free image to work with for the challenge.  So make sure that you participate and you could win a free image of your choice.

A Day for Daises Challenge #9: "Fresh Coat of Paint"

Greetings!

I need to apologize right now if there are a ton of typos in this post.  I lost electricity here at home (got it back an hour ago) and so it is cold and my fingers aren't working so well.  Aargh!  Anyway, that is life, right?!

This week we have another exciting challenge at A Day for Daisies, as well as the new release.
A new year and a clean slate, lets give our cards a fresh coat of paint! Get away from last years colored pencils and markers and dip our brushes into wet, fabulous, paint! Try something new!  The challenge begins January 7 and ends January 20, 2011.  I decided to forgo my usual Copic markers and use digitize paint on my card.  Using Photoshop Elements, I painted my image and must say I LOVE the way it turned out.

Isn't that image gorgeous!  Well, there are many more to like it in the new release "Ballet School."  The image I chose to use is "final call."  The sentiment was created by me.

I love these cute little fairies from "a day for daisies" they were the perfect little touch for these notecards, I think. :-)

21 Day TLC Challenge!!

Greetings beautiful people!

I just wanted to take a moment to wish you a happy, safe and properous New Year!

Also, starting today over on Create w/TLC CDAC group we are kicking off The New Year with a "21 Day TLC Challenge"   This is the time of year when we begin making those New Year Resolutions and if you are like me...I am good at making them and even better at breaking them. lol Therefore, this year I wanted to try something different. Instead of putting ALL that pressure on myself to keep a promise that I knew I wasn't going to keep when I made it; I'll take it one day at a time.

Research shows that it takes 21 days to develop a habit. So the challenge is to choose one habit you would like to develop (or two if you are adventurous-lol) and for 21 days (during the month of January) work towards making it happen. It can be as simple as taking the stairs instead of the elevator or using skim milk instead of whole milk. Get creative with it!!

Here's a starter list. You can use one of these or come up with one of your own. Remember you are only doing this for 21 days, but if you choose to continue with it longer...go for it!:-D

  •  Give up sweets
  •  Meditate
  • Write in your blog each day
  • Create a card a day and then send them to Operation Write Home or a charity of your choice
  • Tell someone you love them
  • Send a message to a CDAC friend each day
  • Hug your child
  • Color using some other medium beside Copic markers
  • Use a different tutorial here on CDAC a day

The list could go on and on...

Also, Paulette is so generous that she is giving away a freebie wordart.  Just click here (scroll down) to snag it and don't forge to leave some love. :-D  [A BIG THANKS TO PAULETTE FOR INDULGING MY WHIMSICAL IDEAS!!!]

I will be adding an inlinkz button here on my blog and if you sign up you could win some yummy, low-fat, good for you BLOG CANDY!

I hope that you will all join me! I think it will be a lot of fun.

Also you can snag the badge below, post it on your blog and encourage your friends to join us!

Let the challenge begin...
